1. Grants
Two types of compatible grant exist:
- Accommodation and maintenance grant.
- Course enrolment grant.
1.1. ACCOMMODATION AND MAINTENANCE GRANT HOLDER AT SITE IN SAN LORENZO DE EL ESCORIAL (ONLY FOR 5-DAY COURSES AND 2- AND 3-DAY MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS)
Grants entitle holders to accommodation in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in a single room, with full board, together with the course material. No changes to the accommodation conditions are permitted. The grant holder must settle payment, at any event, of the cost of the enrolment (unless they obtain a 100% enrolment grant). The accommodation is only provided from the night before the start of the course until 2 pm on the day the course ends.
Requirements
In order to apply for a grant, you must formalise the enrolment on the online portal and pay the corresponding rate to enrol on the course (you may sign up to the different enrolment support grant options by providing the documentation required for each type, whereby the accommodation grant is compatible with any enrolment support grant. The final date to apply for our grants is 26 May, whereby the enrolment can solely and exclusively be made online through the web page of Complutense Summer Courses

Remember that you must also register on the web page of Santander Grants at
https://www.becas-santander.com/esThe application for an accommodation and maintenance grant will be confirmed when the online enrolment has been duly completed and payment for enrolment on the Summer Course has been received. If only the enrolment has been completed but not the payment or vice versa, then this grant application will not be considered to be valid.
All applications will be rejected that are not accompanied by a copy of the proof of payment of the amount of the course, scanned and sent to (cursvera@ucm.es) or by fax (913946433).
The definitive allocation of accommodation and maintenance grants will be notified by electronic mail as from 11 June.
Any waiver of the grant must be notified at least 15 days prior to the start of the course, by ordinary mail, e-mail or fax, to the Secretary’s Office for Students on Complutense Summer Courses. Should this not be completed, the General Foundation will only refund 25% of the amount of the enrolment. If the course has already started and no refund has been requested, no amount will be refunded.
In the event of not being awarded the accommodation grant and you thus wish not to attend the course, the complete sum paid will be refunded.
Upon arriving in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, accommodation grant holders must accredit their identity by presenting their ID card, passport or foreigner’s ID card upon arrival at their accommodation.
All applications will be rejected that are not accompanied by a copy of the proof of payment of the amount of the course, scanned and sent to (cursvera@ucm.es) or by fax (913946433).

2. ORDINARY ENROLMENT (FOR 5-DAY COURSES, 2- AND 3-DAY MEETINGS AND DAY MEETINGS)
Those who wish to register for ordinary enrolment on courses, meetings and day meetings should formalise their registration through the online enrolment portal on the web page of the Complutense Summer Courses, and for any available places, the enrolment can be formalised at the Secretary’s Office for Students in San Lorenzo de El Escorial until the day of the start of the corresponding activity. This type of enrolment includes the whole costs of enrolment (but not accommodation or maintenance), without any discount. All the courses have a limited capacity and once the full quota is reached, enrolment will be closed, regardless of the date or deadline.
Requirements

RECOGNITION OF CREDITS FOR BACHELOR’S DEGREE, MASTER’S DEGREE AND PHD QUALIFICATIONS
- You can apply for degree credits to undertake the activities organised by Complutense Summer Courses. In this case, 2 ECTS credits for 5-day courses and workshops, and 1 credit for 3-day meetings for UCM students enrolled for the academic year 2020/2021 that request this, comply with the attendance requirements and take a written classroom test at the end of the corresponding academic activity. ECTS credits will not be recognised for 2-day meetings and workshops.
- Recognition of credits for students with an official Master’s Degree: interested parties may request recognition of credits for 5-day courses or 3-day meetings. This recognition will be requested from the Dean’s office of the UCM faculty where the student is taking the Master’s Degree and prior acceptance by the lecturer coordinating the Master’s Degree will be an essential pre-requisite. Article 4.d of the Regulation on the Recognition and Transfer of Credits (BOUC no. 14, of 10 November 2011) will be applied to resolve the application. In the event that the credits are recognised, this will be calculated within the 15% of all the credits of the study plan that can be obtained based on the professional or work experience and non-official university studies.
- Recognition of training activities for PhD students: since credits do not exist on current PhD programmes, interested parties my register the courses undertaken in the “Document of PhD activities”, so that they may be evaluated by the academic committees of the programmes.
OBSERVATIONS
Invoices will not be raised for enrolment payments once the financial year of the courses has closed.
Once the course, meeting, workshop or session has begun, the amount of the course will not be refunded unless requested in the corresponding deadline and terms. To request a fund, you should write to cursvera@ucm.es and fill out the refund form provided.
Courses with fewer than 20 students will be cancelled if so decided by the organisers of Complutense Summer Courses; in this case, the whole amount will be refunded to students.
Once the course, meeting, workshop or session has begun, the amount of the course will not be refunded unless requested in the corresponding deadline and terms. To request a fund, you should write to cursvera@ucm.es and fill out the refund form provided.
